Toys of the times

I received some fun feedback from this column I wrote earlier in May:

I went through similar research when my kids were younger, trying to determine what things of my childhood carried through. But that period was very short and now they are in a world that is foreign to me. Perhaps in a decade or more I can start over again with grandkids.

I love that column. My grandaughter loves dolls and has a stroller as well, but she is a thoroughly modern mama with a motorized red Mustang. She adores arts and crafts. I must say that having a chess prodigy in the family is remarkable.

I enjoyed your column and I'm impressed by your chess player! That's a game I never really took to. It's fun to see the same games and toys we played with as kids still being enjoyed by the little ones today.
