Growing up on a farm, we always vacationed from late fall to early spring. Deep summer was a time for laying low and trying to "beat" the heat. Of course there were always farm stuff that needed worked on. So when people asked me how my summer went, I usually said sweaty and boring.Edhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13214319366049620074noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2987040098977019674.post-92084040956378818912016-07-14T16:07:51.064-05:002016-07-14T16:07:51.064-05:00Congratulations to your son! Fun, too, that he invited along his sister and BIL to make a vacation out of the interview trip.

Only our oldest came back... twice, and with a child in tow both times. Always for a good reason, though, and neither visit was open-ended. (meaning we could see the light at the end of the tunnel)

It's not just limited to kids these days, either. My brother-in-law moved in with us when he was between jobs! Fortunately, it was only for three months and I have to admit I was surprised at what a good house guest he ended up being. Like you, I really don't like hot weather so summer break is lost on me as I spend most of it not wanting to leave the air conditioning. I'd far prefer it in the winter. :)
Anyhow, what exciting news for your son, congratulations! Note Dame is a big deal!
After college, the last place I wanted to be was back at my parents house. I did stay there for a bit, but I never wanted to live there for good. Like you, I've heard that happens quite a bit with grown kids anymore, which kind of blows my mind. Since I've lived in my current home, my neighbor's three kids have all grown, moved out, and moved back in. All three are living there now, some with their own children. I'm not a parent, so can't really judge, but to me I'd want my house back! Pumpkin Delight (Kimberly)https://www.blogger.com/profile/15754292671421221960noreply@blogger.com
