It was under 40 degrees (the season starts mid-February) and I was put in to pinch-hit in the 4th inning. Thankfully I walked on four pitches, because my body was still frozen, ha.

p.s. -- UALR's field was the weirdest I ever played on. Combo of dirt/grass/artificial turf, and in left field there was a severe downslope about 20 feet before the wall. If I stood on the warning track, I could only see the upper body of the cutoff man.Redleftyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04834798382800790723noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2987040098977019674.post-91566913759356921952009-03-31T16:58:00.000-05:002009-03-31T16:58:00.000-05:00Wow Bob...that was a FANTASTIC story!! Loved that story.

I don't know if you realize that I played baseball through college (just Division II) and did get a chance to meet and perform for a MLB scout.

There will always be a special place in my heart for the game of baseball. And the field is still one of the only places I feel at home.

Glad you guys are still finding ways, through softball or through attending sprint training, to keep enjoying the bond of baseball.Redleftyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04834798382800790723noreply@blogger.com
